Here we have a cute little Sanyo.  This natively comes with only RF and composite in, which still works just fine.  The Composite looks decent enough, but I wanted to RGB mod it.

Some RGB mods just don't turn out as nice as others, and this is an example of that.  Once RGB modded you cannot adjust the contrast or the brightness, and the contrast is a little bit too high.  I tried adjusting resistor values all day long, but I couldn't get it to look any better.  Every once in a while I can see a little bit of interference coming through on the RGB lines too.  I tried adding diodes to all the lines, but I just couldn't quite solve this interference.  It's hardly noticeable, and it's only an RGB thing, if you have the tv in composite mode, it works properly as it should.   There's a switch on the back to put it in RGB mode, or flip it off, to turn RGB off to put it in Composite/stock mode.

The linearity on this set is great, by that I mean as you see objects move across the screen they don't bulge or bubble they stay the same size, but the horizontal width of the raster is just a little bit bigger than I would prefer.  You cannot adjust the horizontal size.

Overall it's a cool little set, the colors are super bright and vibrant, it just isn't as sharp as I would like it because the contrast is too high in RGB mode. When contrast is up too high, things start to get less sharp, and bloom a little bit more.  You can still adjust contrast/brightness and all the normal settings in composite mode, if you choose to do so.

Maybe it would work out well for someone who needs an arcade test bench or something like that.  There are recent sold listings on ebay for this set between $70 and $124, so hopefully $75 with the added RGB seems fair, even though the RGB isn't the best RGB mod.

This does come with the original remote too.
